I saved it under drafts, don't know how I managed that 'cause I didn't even enough drafts existed here. So at least it's up and posted now which just goes to prove I did actually post it.
This past month I have finished a number of quilt tops most of which as wips/ufos/PhDs or whatever emphemism (?) you want to use for those projects that have been forgotten when something more 'interesting' comes along.
My thread jar has had a bit added, by me compressing the old so that the new has some space. This time the jar is more casual, it's...topless!! But photo won't upload been trying for ages. I'll post this and try the photo later...Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09555016676804548719noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994996455197861625.post-1115908434683047342011-05-03T19:04:00.002+10:002011-05-03T19:09:11.950+10:00May 3rd New moon

Sorry about the messy photo this month but I'm tired. I started a fabric jar and it just happens to be behind the thread jar. I have started a new jar but that one tends to have pieces of fabric not threads. In a previous life I did this with fabric and it was called 'Quilt Jelly'. This was not my name for it but the name given in the book. I ended up giving it to Mum as a joke gift that Christmas. She had a good laugh and decided not to put it on her morning toast...Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09555016676804548719noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994996455197861625.post-41137080702548201422011-03-04T21:18:00.001+11:002011-03-04T21:18:08.783+11:00TUSAL March Photo

Lots of white thread this month as I did some patchwork last Sunday but still lots of other colours. A stitcher that starts a new project BEFORE finishing the current one. I have heaps of xstitch, patchwork, knitting... that I have started but not finished. I am determined to finish at least one of these before July 15th 2011 as it is a sampler for my parents who celebrated their golden wedding July 15 2010. I don't want it to be a 51st Anniversary present!! However as I am going to be a Great Auntie in June I do need to start some new projects too better get statching...
It is amazing how many stitchers do so because they need time when they think of nothing except stitching. The TV may be on and you might be 'watching' a program but all of your problems and worries fade as you stitch. How do I know this is true? I started stitching in 1986, self-taught, when I moved out of home to work 265 miles away. Missing the family I kept up my knitting which was a bit difficult in 30 deg. C +. During the Easter break I went into a haby store and saw a lady doing long stitch. I bought ALL the accoutrements and my love of stitching trip began.

Since that day I have completed countless long stitch, counted cross stitch and a couple of tapestry pictures. I no longer do long stitch but I did a few years of 'Creative Tapestry' where I met a number of lovely and very artistic ladies (sorry no men joined!). Wendy is a lovely teacher and the only reason I stopped going was that my finances took a down turn. Stitching helped with the stress associated with this too.

Now I knit (since I was 3 1/2 years old), crochet (since I was 9 years old), embroider (since I was 10 years old), do patchwork and quilting since 1996 and, of course, counted cross stitch since 1985. I love making cross stitch ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) as they can be completed in a few sessions.

All I need now is to live beyond the age of Methusala (sp.) and I'll still not finish all of my stitching.Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09555016676804548719noreply@blogger.com3
